The Spring Hill Business Directory is community-submitted but editorially reviewed. That means anyone can submit a business for free, but our team checks every submission before it appears in the directory. This page explains exactly what we look for and why.
The Review Process
1. Submission received
A business owner or community member submits a listing using our free submission form. We collect the business name, category, address, phone, website, hours, and a short description.
2. Accuracy check
Our editorial team verifies that the business name, address, and phone number match publicly available records. We cross-reference Google Maps, state business registrations, and the business's own website where available.
3. Quality review
We check that the description is factual and does not contain promotional language, pricing claims, or misleading statements. We also confirm the business is located in or primarily serves the Spring Hill, TN area.
4. Approval and publication
Listings that pass the review are approved and appear in the live directory, typically within 1 to 3 business days. The submitter receives a notification email when their listing goes live.
5. Rejection criteria
Listings are rejected if the business cannot be verified, if the description contains false or misleading claims, if the business is outside our coverage area, or if the submission violates our listing guidelines.
What We Do Not Accept
- Businesses that cannot be verified through public records or their own website
- Duplicate listings for the same business
- Listings with descriptions that contain pricing, promotional language, or superlatives
- Businesses primarily operating outside Maury County, TN
- Listings submitted with false contact information
- Adult-only businesses, gambling services, or businesses that violate Tennessee law
Claiming and Updating a Listing
Business owners can claim their listing at any time using the Claim Your Listing page. Once claimed, owners can update their contact information, description, and add a photo. Claimed listings display a verified badge. Updates submitted by owners go through the same accuracy review before going live.
Reporting an Inaccuracy
